Press Release
The Balk Blog is very excited to announce that they have decided that they have named their first two interviewers’ for the very popular blog “5 Pitch Strikeout,” which is a interview with one of the nation’s best prep players, asking him 5 questions. We are going to do a double header for our first time out. The two pieces will air on Monday, September 23, 2011. We will also be doing a “Player Spotlight” on Monday as well, which we will do once a week from here on out.
The “5 Star Strikeout” interviewers are both names that you probably have heard of, as they are very popular in the recruiting and draft world. Representing the state of Arkansas, we are proud to announce that we will be interviewing future Razorback commitment, Blake Baxendale. Blake, the young brother of Hog superstar, DJ Baxendale, is a catcher from Rogers, AR. We will also be interviewing another big time talent not far from Bax, a few states over, RHP from Santa Fe HS in Edmond, OK. Ty Hensley was the starter in the Perfect Game All America Game last week, maybe you noticed his 94 mph fast ball. He will also sit down with one of our great writers for Monday, he is committed Ole Miss.
Not only do we have two elite players in Baxendale and Hensley on Monday, it gets better with our guest for the “Player Spotlight.” We will be interviewing Courtney Hawkins, from CC Carroll. You talk about talent, how about what scouts say can possibly be a “big league outfielder” as well as a 92 plus arm on the mound! He is considered by most to be a top 30 player in the nation. He is committed as a dual player to the University of Oklahoma where he will play for head coach Sunny Golloway. He led his high school to a 5A state championship as a sophomore, pitching the state championship.
It should be an exciting day on Monday so don’t miss out. All three of the players are notimations for The Balk Blog Preseason Player of the Year for their respected states, and The Balk Blog Preseason National Player of the year. We wish these guys the best of luck! We also like to thank "bandiotsbaseballclub" and "Sports High School Talk" for their videos that they posted!

Blake Baxendale (AR)
Courtney Hawkins (TX)
That kid Courtney Hawkins is a beast. I've never seen a 17yr old with that much power. I've seen him hit 450 - 500 ft shots with wood. Biggest problems for opponents is that he is just 17. Still growing.
